Will You Be Attending the 2011 Financial Bloggers Conference?

I’ve traveled the United States over the last few years, primarily because I worked for an affiliate network and attended all of the Affiliate Summit and Ad Tech conferences each and every year.  From New York to San Francisco and everywhere in-between (Las Vegas most notably) these conferences where a nice way to meet and greet people I had spoken with over the phone, but in terms of business and coming away with potential revenue … blah.

This year, I won’t be attending any of those conferences and will rather be showing up to the first annual Financial Bloggers Conference, held in Chicago, IL.  On October 1st and 2nd, the finest group of bloggers will be getting together to meet and greet one another, share secrets and ultimately improve their blogs by listening to experts in the field. Rather than attend a large scale conference, where 5% of the overall show applies to me, this niche conference seems to be a perfect fit.

The brain trust behind this conference is Phil Taylor, owner and operator of PTMoney.com.  Phil and I have been good friends for a while now and seeing this idea develop has been a lot of fun.  As speakers and sponsors continue to come in at full force, there’s no doubt that this conference will be a big hit.  Plus, I’ve never been to Chicago so it will be nice to see the sights and sounds of a new city.

The  cost for attending this conference is minimal, and if you sign up by April 15th (which means by tomorrow), each ticket is only $89.00.  When compared to other conferences, you’ll find the Financial Bloggers Conference to be extremely inexpensive and the amount of friends, advice and new ideas you’ll gain will be well worth the ticket.  To sign up for the conference or receive more information, visit the official conference site: www.FinancialBloggerConference.com.

  1. Thanks for the mention, Michael. I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with you and DR there. Should be fun and a great learning experience for everyone. I just wish the Cubs were playing so I could witness your score-keeping skills.

  2. I’ll be attending — and am looking forward to it! I don’t have a lot of hobbies, but one of the things I’ve been doing for the past 4 years now is writing my personal finance blog and following other PF bloggers. While it will be tough to not be anonymous anymore, it will be worth it to meet everyone. I can’t wait. And I hate conferences… I’m in marketing so I attend a lot for work as well, but I already know this one is going to be special.

  3. I’ll be there! Chicago is a super town. Make sure to extend your trip by a day or two so you can visit downtown since it looks like the actual conference won’t be held there.

Like you, I’m excited about this smaller, niche group. Plus, it will be cool to attend the first one ever as I have a feeling this will be an annual event.
