No brand of credit card does a better job of advertising than Capital One and its Venture line of products.  I can’t seem to escape a day without seeing Visigoths raid a prop house or Caesars Casino asking everyone what’s in their wallets.  Be that as it may, in my opinion one of the best cards Capital One offers consumers is the Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card.

The card combines bonus miles worth $200 with excellent rewards on everyday purchases. It adds a 0% APR on purchases for 12 months (standard APR is 14.49% - 24.49% (Variable)) and $0 annual fee.

Detailed Review

Bonus Miles

Classified as a travel rewards credit card, the Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card starts off by offering 20,000 bonus miles. To earn the miles, new cardmembers must spend $1,000 on the card in the first three months. The bonus miles are worth $200 in travel.

Everyday Rewards

Hitting the meat and potatoes, the card gives 1.25 miles for every dollar spent on purchases. The miles can be redeemed for anything and everything travel related, including hotel rooms, flights and car rentals. Miles never expire and the airline you choose to fly is always your choice.  Miles are good everywhere.

One great feature of these rewards is that you can book your travel anywhere. Simply use the VentureOne card for the purchase. It’s then easy to erase the purchase using the miles you’ve accumulated on the card.

Rates and Fees

The card provides a 0% intro APR on purchases for 12 months and the standard APR after the promotional period is 14.49% - 24.49% (Variable). There is $0 annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees.

Good or Excellent credit is required to obtain the Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card and any international purchase will not include a foreign transaction fee.  Also not included is an annual fee, which means that if you pay your balance off in full each month and stay within your credit limit, you’ll come out well ahead of the game.
