Chase Savings℠ is an interesting new option for keeping your cash deposits somewhere. While just last year we saw many online savings accounts offering north of 2% APY, that has come down significantly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, many banks are now offering under 1%.
While you can get close to 1% at other banks, Chase is taking a different route. They’re offering a 0.01% APY on balances deposited, but they’re giving a one-time $150 bonus on deposits of $10,000 or more, if you deposit that money within 20 business days of opening the account (and keep it there for 90 days). That’s essentially a 1.5% rate of return on that money, so it’s definitely an option worth considering right now.
