Yesterday I came across a website that identifies unhealthy toys and thought I’d pass it along. HealthyToys is a project of the Ecology Center, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. HealthyToys allows you to search for toys by name, brand or type. You can also see a list of the best and worst toys. The worst toy, for example, is the Brush Your Teeth! Robot due to high lead content. Here’s what the review of this toy looks like:

Please pass this website along to others. You can click on the “Share This” link at the bottom of the post, then click the e-mail tab and e-mail this article to others who could benefit from the HealthyToys website.

Thanks for the information! I’ll definitely be checking into some of my kids’ toys!
I wonder how much damage a lead eye would do.
At the same time, I don’t think children should be introduced to any lead, if possible. Even in “safe” quantities. It’s just not a risk I’d be willing to take.
Mrs. Micah, I agree. Life is already filled with enough danger and risk; there’s no need to bring it into our homes for our children to play with.
