Incredible trick shots on the pool table and how my dad hustled his way through college

My father, I'm told, was considered to be an extraordinary pool player. I only remember seeing him play once, and I was too young to really appreciate good pool. His best game was carom billiards, a game with no pockets and only three balls. Points are earned by making shots that hit your opponent's cue ball and the target ball, along with striking so many rails. Playing carom billiards makes you a demon at pocket billiards because you learn all the angles and bank shots. Perhaps my father's claim to fame was playing Willie Mosconi in pocket billiards. My dad lost to Mosconi, but apparently held his own.

He hustled his way through college at the Golden 8 Ball, a local pool hall in the town where he went to college. So when my son came across this YouTube video of some amazing trick shots, it immediately reminded me of my father. The shots are so good that I thought I'd pass it along. Oh, and in case you're wondering, great pool playing is not in the genes, I'm sad to say.

Tim Chin’s trick shot site is pretty good. It has a lot of different shots and instructions too which has helped me learn some of these amazing tricks! Maybe you can too…..
