Getting a Good Night’s Sleep @ plonkee money: This article describes a debate over investing between The Simple Dollar and All Financial Matters. Plonkee takes a look at being comfortable with your investments, which is definitely worth reading. I want to add some commentary. I have a high stress job. Several years ago at a previous employer I went in to talk to my boss about a particular project. The problem was, from my perspective, that I was up all night worrying about the project, worrying that we were missing something or not doing all things that needed done. And I was seeking some advice on how to approach the project without so much angst. My boss responded simply thus, “We get paid to worry.” He was right. And I worry about my investments all the time. I try not to obsess. But when it comes to my family’s investments, it’s my job to worry. And if your investments are keeping you up at night, the problem may not be your investments.
