Another great and detailed post on SEO for WordPress.

I’d been wondering about the use of SEO slugs in the current version of WordPress, in view of the fact that there’s the permalink edit feature. Now you have addressed that in this post – I’ll have to delete that plugin now.

OMG! Thank you so much for this post! I have always been wondering about SEO and how I would go about having search engines find my site. Your explanation of it, how it works and how to set it up were on point. Do you know if I would be able to follow these steps and use these programs/plug ins for a e-commerce store?

MoneyEnergy, with shared hosting, that’s how it works. But recognize that the domains are separate. They are not “subdomains” in the sense of http://www.subdomain.domain.com. The each resolve to their own domain name. It’s just that all the domains from the server side must come under the main domain. The web server, they can’t tell that the domains are hosted at the same place.

Same as Mrs. Micah, I have all of these but slugs and HeadSpace2. I don’t think I need the slugs one, I remove those words myself. But I would like to find an easy to use F T P. Haven’t seen one I liked. Also, tried using one bluehost account to host more than one domain, but it forced me to include domain 2 as a “subdomain” which I really didn’t want. Any tips on that aspect of bluehost? I didn’t want the links to be related to each other.

WordPress is a great blogging platform and getting it search engine optimized really isn’t a hard task. Using proper permalinks and robots.txt file to prevent duplicate content and a few other methods can really make a difference. The All in One SEO plugin is really the best bet.

Connie, in the long run the plugins will make your life a lot easier and your blog a lot busier. I’ve come to realize that writing a quality post is only 50% of the work. The other 50% are all the things you need to do to it: keywords in the right places, links to other part of your site, complete the excerpt, complete all in one or headspace info, etc. Good luck!

Alright, alright – you’ve convinced me. I’m not running any of these yet, and I hate managing plugins lol.
