If I invest the same amount of time into other things (researching, writing better articles, adding features, marketing, etc.) I think the payoff is better. At least, that has been my experience. The constant changing nature of SEO reduces the value in investing time into it, because you have to constantly invest more time to get the same results. This is unlike investing more time into research and writing better articles or marketing, because the investment continues to pay off without further investing.

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I just don’t know enough secretes about SEO, but from my experience in today’s competitive market, your time is better invested in other things.
