Covestor Update (22 July 2007)

by DR on July 22, 2007

About a month ago, I began tracking some of my investments through Covestor. You’ll notice the Covestor widget on the right sidebar. Clicking on the widget takes you to a summary of my investments on Covestor, including a graph comparing my returns to the S&P 500 and a listing of my investments. You can also track my portfolio through Covestor. You do have to enter your e-mail, but I don’t have access to it. One interesting item Covestor adds if you track a member’s investment is a $10,000 fantasy portfolio for the tracker. What this shows is how your fantasy $10,000 would perform if invested in the same thing I’m invested in. One caveat, not all of my investments have been entered into Covestor, yet. Covestor can automatically link to certain brokers, but not all of them. I hope to have all of my investments entered in the next week.

According to Covestor, since 17 June 2007, my portfolio is up 1.74%. Because this doesn’t include all of my investments, yet, it is understated. My emerging market fund, small cap international fund, and REIT funds have not been added. REITs are down this year, but emerging markets are on fire. I’ll provide a better performance update once all of my investments have been added.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Covestor (it’s free), send me an e-mail. Membership is by invitation only, and I have 5 invitations available to send out to the first five that contact me.
