E-health insurance & all the others provide the worst insurance for anyone who lives in the NYS. They play games by giving you low monthly premiums but when you read coverage details, the copays are high, the deductibles are high, & they offer insurance companies that no doctor takes. there is one primary doctor in all of richmond county that takes "Atlantis" & "HIP" isnt any better. Then theres no out of network coverage so your left paying out of pocket for every doctor you use to see when you had coverage under an employer. All the others are the same no out of network coverage, high copays, paying 50% for brand name prescriptions, they require 20-50% co-insurances on top of your copays, & the HSA is a farce. HSA is a nice way of saying empty your checking/savings account between $10-15 thousands dollars & then the insurance company will pay: by that time the years is up, ur broke & and the plan starts all over again. Oxford, GHI, Aetna provide poor HMO & if your lucky they may offer an equally poor EPO, PPO, or POS system & the only benefit with that is you wont have to see your primary to see your specialist & have to shell out 2 copays for a problem your specialist should be caring for anyway. THE ONLY & I mean ONLY GOOD INSURANCE PLAN is BCBS & they only offer an HMO FOR INDIVIDUALS. IN NEW YORK & YOU WILL PAY $1100 A MONTH JUST FOR THE PREMIUM.

Nicki, I was pleasantly surprised by the site. When I began evaluating it, I had low expectations. Not sure why. But it really does provide a wealth of information for those needing individual health insurance.
