But that’s not really true is it Ann-Marie? The entire time you’re on the site you are constantly taken here and there to purchase credit repair, purchase your credit score, purchase your credit report. I was thoroughly disgusted with the sales pop ups. I also discovered that my credit score as shown on the site was 106 points BELOW what the actual score is. If you want truly FREE go to http://www.creditsesame.com or http://www.creditkarma.com. Quizzle was just plain annoying and irritating and certainly not free by any means.

Credit Karma gives you your FACO score and NOT the FICO score — why get a score that no lender uses??

I just thought a mention of it at the end would be a good idea so people have the option, possibly even a link to your article on annual credit report.

Edwin, we have written about annual credit report before, and it certainly is the place to go if you just want your credit report. But you can’t get your credit score there. Credit Karma is another option, and I’ll add it to our list of sites to review. Thanks!

I’m rather disappointed you didn’t mention annual credit repor. It’s free (actually free, not a scam to make you spend money on accident) and was set up to fulfill federal law. I use it for all my credit reporting needs (limited to once per year).I’ve also used creditkarma and like it far better than the “free” credit score scammers.

If you don’t want to shell out cash for monthly monitoring there are a couple other services that offer free credit reports and credit scores in exchange for receiving marketing offers.

CreditKarma.com and Quizzle are two of them.
