Chase Ink Cash Business Credit Card

Getting a business credit card was one of the smartest things I did as a small business owner. It made it easy to track business expenses and keep them separate from my personal spending. And business cards come with some excellent travel and cash back rewards, which brings me to the Ink Cash (SM) Business credit card.

While I don’t review a lot of business credit cards here, two features of this card caught my attention–up to 5% cash back and $250 in bonus cash for new card members. We’ll cover these features below, but first, here is a snapshot of what the features of the Ink Cash (SM) Business card:

  • Earn $250 Bonus Cash Back
  • 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually on office supplies, cable services, and telecom services
  • 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually on gas and dining
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases with no limit on the amount of cash back you can earn
  • Cash back rewards do not expire
  • 0% intro APR for 6 months and no annual fee*

$250 Bonus Cash

New card holders get 25,000 points worth $250 when they make $5,000 in purchases on the card within the first 3 months. Basically, Chase is paying you to get its business credit card.

Ink Cash(SM) Rewards

As I’ve often said, however, you shouldn’t pick a card based solely on sign-up bonuses. They are great to have, but you want to make sure the card fits your needs. Here, the Ink Cash (SM) is as competitive a card as I’ve seen.

The card has a 3-tier cash back system ranging from 1% to 5%. The percentage cash back depends on what you buy and how much you spend. Ink Cash(SM) pays 5% in cash back rewards on net purchases made on office supplies, wireless, landlines and cable services purchases. These categories are ideal for many small businesses. There is a yearly limit on the 5% cash back reward. Maximum point accumulation on net purchases earning 5% is 100,000 points per year, which equates to $25,000 in net purchases. There is no maximum accumulation on earning 1% cash back.

The card also pays 2% cash back on on gas and dining purchases, up to $25,000 in spending each year. In addition, the card pays 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Here are the three cash back tiers in a nutshell:

  • 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually on office supplies, cable services, and telecom services
  • 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent annually on gas and dining
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases with no limit on the amount of cash back you can earn

Additional Features

In addition to cash back, the card offers a 0% introductory offer. The introductory offer last for 6 billing cycles and applies to both purchases and balance transfers. While this is a nice extra, if 0% offers are your main focus, there are better 0% cards available.

There is no annual fee for the Ink Cash(SM) card, and additional cards can be issued to employees at no cost. The Ink Cash (SM) Business is designed for business owners who want more cash back, a customized credit line, and simple ways to track and manage expenses. Here is a summary of some additional features of the Ink Cash(SM) card:

Add Authorized Users: Authorized users may use the account in the same manner as the Authorizing Officer, but will not be responsible for payment. The Cardmember Agreement and Reward Program Rules and Regulations will apply to transactions made by authorized users.

Zero Liability: U.S.-issued cards only. Zero Liability Protection does not apply to ATM transactions or to PIN transactions not processed by Visa/MasterCard, as applicable.

0% Introductory Rate: The Ink Cash (SM) business offers a 0% introductory rate on purchases and balance transfers. The introductory rate is valid for the first six billing cycles following the opening of the account.

Beyond the rewards program, the Ink Cash(SM) Business offers other benefits such as no annual fee and a reasonable APR for purchases for those who qualify. Therefore, those who plan to take advantage of the cash rewards program will benefit most from what Ink Cash(SM) Business has to offer.
