A fairly new offer in the credit card rewards category promises to be one of the most lucrative cards available. In addition to offering 2.2% cash back (more about that in a moment), it also offers a signing bonus worth $400. These perks come from the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard, a card you don’t see reviewed very often.
This card offers a lot of benefits, so this will be a fairly detailed review. Let’s tart with the cash back.
Cash Back Rewards
The Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard is a true 2% cash back card. For every dollar spent, you earn 2 points. In addition, for travel related purchases, you earn a 10% miles bonus, bringing the total to 2.2 percent.
It’s important to note that these miles can be redeemed only for travel related purchases. If you’re like me, however, that’s not a problem. We easily use our miles on travel purchases throughout the year.
Finally, note that you earn 2 miles on all eligible purchases. Many travel cards, like the Chase Sapphire and Sapphire preferred, only pay out 2 miles on certain categories of purchases. The rest of the purchases earn just 1 mile. With this Barclaycard, it’s 2 miles on everything.
The big selling point, and why I’ve applied for the card, is the 40,000 bonus miles. Simply spend $1,000 on the card in the first three months, and the miles are yours. Total value of the bonus is $400 in travel purchases.
0% Introductory Rate
In addition to the bonus miles and 2%+ rewards, the card also offers zero percent on purchases for 12 months. That means you can spend the $1,000 to get the 40,000 mile bonus, and pay off the balance over a year without any interest charges. As compared to other travel cards, this offer makes earning the bonus miles extremely easy.
