Dough Roller $2,500 Holiday Cash Giveaway

We have a winner! Congratulations to Carmen N. for winning the Dough Roller Holiday Cash Giveaway. And thanks for everybody who entered the contest. I’ll be running a new contest beginning January 1, giving away an iPad. So check back then on details on how to enter.

That’s right. The Dough Roller team is giving away $2,500 to one lucky winner. And you just need to complete a short survey and sign up for our free newsletter to enter. Here’s the deal.

Prepaid debit cards are the fastest growing type of payment method. The Mercator Advisory Group predicts that by next year, consumers will load $117 billion onto prepaid cards. To give you an idea of how far the prepaid market as come, let’s take a quick look at Serve by American Express and the UPside prepaid card.

Earlier this week I reviewed the Amex Serve prepaid card. The Serve card comes with no monthly or annual fees, a Facebook App to send or receive money, and subaccounts if you want your children to have a card. The card also offers Zynga in-game rewards (think FarmVille), a first in the prepaid card market. Serve represents American Express’ third entry in the prepaid debit card market, joining the Pass card and the more traditional American Express Prepaid Card.

The UPside Card is a Visa prepaid debit card. You can load up to $10,000 onto the card. And it costs as little as $0.99 a month if you load $500 onto the card each month.

So back to the $2,500 giveaway. Prepaid card issuers would like to know what Dough Roller readers think of prepaid debit cards. And it’s perfectly OK if you’ve never used a prepaid card. So I’ve put together a short survey for you to take, and will be giving away $2,500 to one lucky winner. Before we get to how you can enter the contest, let’s cover the all important rules:

  • The contest begins today, December 12, 2012 and closes at midnight eastern time on December 23, 2012
  • A winner will be chosen the morning of December 24th at random (using Random.org)
  • The winner must provide a W-9 before receiving the prize
  • The contest is open to U.S. residents only 18 years old or older
  • Void where prohibited

There are two steps necessary to enter to win.

First, using the form below, sign up for our free newsletter.

Second, take a short survey. And that’s it! Note that after you sign up for our newsletter, you’ll be automatically redirected to the survey. If you are already signed up for our newsletter, you can go directly to the survey by clicking here.

Important: Please use the same e-mail for your newsletter subscription and the survey. And be sure it’s a valid email that you check regularly, as that’s how I’ll notify the winner!

Although not required to enter the contest, please share the Holiday Cash Giveaway with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. And good luck.

Oh, and it gets better. Five of my closest blogging friends are also giving away $2,500 each. And you can enter each contest. So check out the other Holiday Cash Giveaways at the following blogs:

You may want to remove the requirement to answer the question about the cards we are aware of or it will invalidate the response, i.e. even if the person is not familiar with any of the cards they are still forced to pick one in order to submit the survey.

Teresa, thanks for the suggestion. Probably should have included an option for none of the above.

Thanks for the opportunity. I definitely subscribed.
Hopefully, I will get lucky and put it towards my debt journey! It’s a long one!

THe 2nd blog on the list of contests seems to be mislabeled. It says Military Wallet but it links to Cash Money Life.

Hi,

Can you tell me how to enter on each of the six blogs? I’ve entered on yours by signing up for your email newsletter and I took the survey via your link. When I go to the next blog, I presume I don’t take the survey again. Do I just sign up for their newsletter too, or do that and leave a comment? Or something else?

Thank you,
Wendy

Wendy, each site has a different step you need to take to enter the contest. It should be explained on each of the pages linked to above. Good luck!
